Brock Landers for Congress!

This really is one of the most frightening political ads of the year, as well as one of the funniest. Not just because of the TEA party influenced boilerplate that serves as the script ("Barack Obama is the worst president in history. In my generation, we'll inherit a weakened country. Drug cartels in Mexico, tax cartels in DC....what's happened to America?"), not even because the very prospect of Dan Quayle's son being an Arizona congressman is inherently amusing. No, it's because this particular candidate looks and speaks like one of those creepy, quiet guys who suddenly explode in a frenzy of violence. You can almost hear the next door neighbor saying "He used to mow my yard..."

And then, the money shot, where young Ben stands up and calmly states "Somebody has to go to Washington and knock the hell out of the place." That's entertainment.

Too bad that the ad began airing right when Quayle's denials of writing for "Dirty Scottsdale" under the pseudonym of Brock Landers began to fall apart. Brock Landers? You might remember him as the action porn star played by Dirk Diggler (played by Mark Wahlberg) in Paul Thomas Anderson's excellent movie 'Boogie Nights'. Good luck, Ben!
